This is true. And this is hard to remember in a world that’s ‘me’ focused, in a heart that is ‘me’ focused. Matthew 6 talks of these things; focusing our eyes on God and heavenly matters gives perspective to our earthly concerns. Focusing on God and putting him first instead of my happiness or my good deeds shapes my existence in the best way possible, for everyone’s benefit, but mostly for His glory. What makes me happy becomes no longer about myself but aligning my will with His.
